DECK & LEDGER / THE MARITIME MONEY JOURNAL

Across oceans.
Between paydays.
Keep your bearings.

Crew pay moves through several hands and across more than one border. Understand the records, ask better questions and prepare for the next port.

CREW PAY / FOLLOW THE HANDOFFS

Crew Payment Route Planner

Who can answer the next question: employer payroll, Navigator transfer support or the recipient’s provider? Map wage release, a scheduled DirectPay allocation or a crew-initiated transfer, and the final payout. Choose broad conditions only. This educational exercise cannot inspect an account or choose a financial product for you.

Read a worked crew-payment example without the tool

Fictional example: employer release has been confirmed, the instruction is DirectPay to a bank, the question is delivery, and the support route is independently verified. No actual crew member or payment is represented.

  1. Payroll explains the wages and its release record. Confirmed release does not establish receipt by a beneficiary bank.
  2. DirectPay follows a scheduled payday bank allocation. Ask Navigator support which instruction applied to that cycle. Changing a saved setting is not proof that a transfer already in progress changed.
  3. The recipient bank explains its own credit record. Transfer support can explain the outgoing handoff and any available trace information.
  4. Separate three pieces of evidence: employer release, transfer acceptance and recipient receipt. Ask for the next required action without inventing an arrival time or sending a duplicate.
  5. Use official support reached through the Navigator app or website opened independently. Keep records private until a verified support channel requests them.
  6. Program and transfer terms control the actual process. This map provides no personal financial advice, fee quote, exchange-rate forecast or delivery guarantee.

Other routes: a wage-calculation question belongs with employer payroll first. OnDemand is a separately initiated bank transfer, so wage release alone does not establish a transfer request. Cash pickup and wallet or card delivery need their own supported route and receiving-provider requirements; do not treat them as DirectPay bank allocations. For FX, separate payroll, transfer and recipient currencies and ask who applies each charge.

If activity is unrecognized or a card is lost or stolen, contact official support promptly. Do not wait for this exercise. Never disclose a password, PIN or one-time code to an unsolicited caller.

Navigator is an employer-program subject here, not an offer of an account to every reader. Brightwell’s other business payment products are not interchangeable with a crew member’s card program. Eligibility, terms, fees and availability depend on the actual arrangement.

For account services, use the official Brightwell crew resources and the verified instructions supplied with your own card. We cannot access an account, change payroll, send money or accept a fraud report.
